Hair at the Oscars went into glam overdrive, with textured updos a la SJP and Jennifer Lopez sprinkled across the red carpet. Here celeb stylist Leo Bancroft tells us how to recreate…
From Sarah Jessica Parker’s twisted style, to Jennifer Lopez’s messy bun and the textured knot worn by rising star Kristen Stewart - glamorous updos were certainly a hit on the Oscars the red carpet.
“This is a great style to create at home as it can be achieved with relative ease,” says stylist to the stars and Tresemme spokesperson Leo Bancroft.
“Begin by blasting dry your hair to create some volume. Loosely pull back the hair with your fingers to create the textured messy feel, then secure at the base of the crown with a band. Wrap the hair around the band and secure with some grips which will give you a three dimensional effect.
“If you feel you need more height or detail in this style, build the front area into a quiff to give the style a modern twist. Again, pull the quiff into shape using your fingers to give texture for a soft and alluring shape.”
Now we know how to do it ourselves we’ll be sporting SJP style Oscar hair everywhere. It’d look great at the gym…right?!
