Early 30s are our most attractive age
21st July 2010
Forget the fresh-faced looks of teenage youths, says skincare expert Shula Starkey, of Ark Age Aware Skincare, because we women are at our most attractive when we hit our early thirties, thanks to changes in our skin hitting their peak. And if anyone needed extra evidence, just check out thirty-something beauties Gisele Bundchen, Jessica Alba, Beyonce Knowles and Scarlett Johansson!
Yes it’s true – we really do reach our prime at thirty, says Shula Starkey, founder of British skincare brand Ark Age Aware, who’s treated over 100,000 women at her Ark skincare centres.
“There are two major phases in our lives that are considered transition periods with respect to the ageing process,” says Starkey. “These are in general late 20s to early 30s and the late 50s to early 60s. These are the two main time stages in our life when there is a dramatic shift in hormone production and a significant change in the way the body functions.”
“Between 25 and 35 growth hormone levels begin to drop and the body reaches its peak level of many structural components including skin, muscle and bone. This will explain to some degree why at this age we are at our most attractive and our skin, hair and body should be at its peak.”
To maintain this ‘bloom’ period, Starkey says it’s important to chooses products that are suited to our age rather than our skin type, such as her new Ark Age Prepare range, which prepares the skin for a graceful ageing process, minimising the tell-tale signs. Sounds fantastic to us!
